Overview
The Head of Dealer Sales is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of dealer network sales strategy and performance. This senior leadership role will oversee the development, implementation, and execution of sales plans to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and enhance partner relationships. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, strategic thinker with a strong background in channel/dealer sales management, capable of building high-performance teams and aligning sales operations with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement dealer sales strategies aligned with company goals to drive growth and profitability. - Team Management:
Develop sales managers and dealer account executives to ensure high performance and target achievement. - Dealer Network Development:
Expand and optimize the dealer network through strategic onboarding, support, and performance management. - Performance Monitoring:
Establish KPIs and performance metrics; monitor dealer and team performance, providing feedback and actionable insights. - Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
Deliver accurate sales forecasts and regular reporting to senior leadership on progress, trends, and challenges. - Relationship Management:
Build strong, long-lasting relationships with key dealers and partners to enhance loyalty and collaboration. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, product, and finance teams to ensure dealer needs are addressed and go-to-market strategies are aligned. - Market Intelligence:
Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to adjust strategies proactively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in dealer or channel sales, with 5+ years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and growing dealer networks
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience working with CRM systems and data-driven sales management
- Willingness to travel as required
Preferred Skills:
- Industry-specific experience (tactical, outdoors, firearm)
- Knowledge of dealer incentive programs and sales enablement tools
- Strategic planning and business development acumen
- MUST have experience presenting thorough business plans to senior management
