The Opportunity

Out client is seeking a CMM Programmer and QC Inspector to take ownership of dimensional inspection for precision machined parts. You will program, set up, and operate a new Zeiss Contura CMM using Calypso and an RDS articulating probe head. This role performs first article and final inspections, evaluates features with tolerances as tight as ±0.0005 inch, and provides the final quality signoff on critical aerospace and defense parts before release.

What You Will Do

• Create, edit, and prove out CMM inspection programs in Zeiss Calypso, including programs that use the RDS probe head.
• Set up and run the Zeiss Contura CMM; select inspection strategies and verify accurate, repeatable measurements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to inspect precision machined features and document results.
• Perform first article and final dimensional inspections, including work with tolerances down to ±0.0005 inch.
• Prepare clear inspection records and reports; identify nonconforming features and communicate findings to machining and quality colleagues.
• Serve as the final inspection signoff for aerospace and defense critical machined parts, following applicable customer and quality requirements.

What You Bring

• At least two years of hands-on technical experience performing dimensional inspection of precision machined parts using a Zeiss CMM.
• Experience programming in Zeiss Calypso, specifically with an RDS articulating probe head.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Sound judgment, attention to detail, and confidence documenting and communicating inspection results.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; no college degree required.
